I began feeling God’s favor and peace in tangible ways, and financial blessings started showing up from unexpected places. I remember one of the times I gave, I received a check in the mail from an unexpected refund for the exact amount I had just given to Villas Church just one week before. That was not a coincidence, that was God reminding me of His faithfulness. I can truly say that you can’t outgive God. When you trust Him with your giving, He multiplies it and sends it back in ways that touch every part of your life. Not just your finances, but your peace, your joy, and your faith."

During the past several months I have treated for recurring stage 4 cancer. I cannot count how many people tell me they are praying for me and Pete. I do so appreciate each and every prayer, act of kindness, word of encouragement and support that have been showered on us. But one incident stands out above all the rest.
It was Sunday and had started out as almost every other Sunday. My morning routine for that day was an early rising, worship team rehearsal, help the ladies set things up for snacks, and then fix myself a cup of tea and chill out before the service began.
However, this particular Sunday was just days after my cancer treatment and the side effects from the medications hadn’t completely subsided. Halfway through the first set of songs I began feeling ill. My head pounded, I was dizzy, nauseous, and experienced a severe case of tremors. My legs were shaking so horribly that I could barely stand so I motioned to Pete to come get me off the stage. As soon as Pete got to me, Pastor Brian met us and asked if we needed help getting me to my seat. Pete thanked him and told him to take my other arm so I wouldn’t fall. A few seconds later I was seated and given a sip of something cold to drink.
Ms. Bethany saw what was going on and was concerned. This beautiful lady asked if she could pray for me during the announcement time. Bethany has prayed on several occasions and I honestly believe that when Bethany prays, even the angels listen to her. That day Bethany wanted to pray for me specifically. Of course I told Bethany that I would very much appreciate the prayer and thanked her.
I didn’t hear everything that Bethany spoke in her prayer because of my headache and everything else I was experiencing at the time. But I did hear her speak my name-several times-as she lifted me before the Lord. While Pete held my hand tightly, I felt hands being laid on my shoulders and head as people gathered around me and prayed along with Bethany. I started feeling very warm and thought I might be about to faint. But I didn’t. The warmth came from deep within my body.
As soon as Bethany finished her prayer with an “Amen,” I lifted my head and looked at Pete with tears in my eyes and a smile on my face. He had no idea what had just happened. But he was about to find out.
When it was time for the second set of songs, I walked up the steps to the platform and waited a few seconds before beginning. I lifted my microphone and spoke loud enough so everyone could hear me.
“Today, I have been touched by the Lord. While Bethany was praying I felt a warmth come over me. As soon as Bethany said, “Amen” my tremors ceased, my headache disappeared and the dizziness and nausea subsided. Thank you for praying for me. God heard you and answered you!” The church broke out in grateful applause and words of thanks to God! I will never forget that day, nor the woman who prayed for me. That was the day when God heard the prayers of His faithful and touched me with His healing power.
